Poisonous love stories

Don’t believe in fairytales
The happy endings never last long
They fill your head with illusions
Makes you whistle old love songs

The sparkles and the glitter only make it seem beautiful
But behind the shiny curtain lies a dark abandoned castle
With no outburst of musicals

Princesses walk alone because their princes no longer
Want them
Now to a darken path they are thrown
Forced to cross a broken bridge
They couldn’t mend

Rapunzel was better off trapped in a tall tower
Snow white was better off asleep
Left to stay undiscovered like a delicate flower
Cinderella without a glass slipper on her feet

Fairytales are only surreal dreams
Written in a child’s book
Not meant for the real world
Because they’re never what they seem
Not even by the second look

Love stories are stupid
They make you think your life can be perfect
Or that your fantasies can come true
All the sweet words written are lies
Consuming the mind of you

They are precious to the hopeful dreamer
Very poisonous to the ears of the non believer

I absolutely love this poem. Love it, love it, love it. I can really relate to the entire poem. Espeically the part about love stories....even fools me some times. I really like the last verse. "They are precious to the hopeful dreamer Very poisoness to the ears of the non believer" I love that. AMAZING WRITER
