The Big Game
My life is like a basketball.
Bouncing a hundred times in all directions before swishing through the hoop.
A big orange circle flying around like a tornado,
Making endless pounding noises as it hits the ground.
It smells sweaty and tastes like a big hard tomato,
It feels rough and warm from traveling around.
Orange circle on the green antlers at Fiserv Forum which is home to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the MIlwaukee Bucks.
Not bouncing one hundred times but one million times as it goes back and forth, back and forth before flying through the hoop.
My favorite basketball team is the Indiana Pacers.
One of the star players of the team used to attend Oshkosh North High School,
He’s going to play in the All Star game as well.
He’s a goat.
I remember playing basketball as a little kid.
Dreaming to play in the NBA someday.
Unfortunately my car needs an oil change so that takes care of that dream.
Second verse same as the first, my uncle always says.
The gusty winds of March Madness
blow quickly with mighty confidence
and come to a standstill.
I enter the stadium with all the excitement,
my heart beats out of my chest and bounces around the aisle
until it lands on my seat.
Sammy was so excited to find his seat and get settled. His eyes darted around
taking in all of the sights. He listened to the sounds of people and
music all around him.
My team hits the floor and
I know they’re going to pull off a win.
The game begins and the players start chasing
up and down the court.
My team is up by ten points
at the half.
The quiet crowd can be heard
cheering loudly, as the game continues.
The big, tall, muscular opposing team seemed ever so weak as
they were getting tossed around like little fairies.
I shouted “obrona” when my team lost possession of the ball.
It must have been a good luck cheer because the ball slapped the
player on the side of the head and rolled around the rim
finally falling into the hoop
to score two more points for the win.
It was like a big orange circle flying around like a tornado.
