Starry Night
The cloak of darkness is draped over its own,
Illuminated solely by a single pearl of radiating beauty and mystery,
and equally iridescent fragments of light.
Both demanding attention, yet humbly so.
Though those the light seeks to impress
are unaware and utterly oblivious.
Rather, they slumber through this demanding display,
as light and dark compete in a never ending battle,
that shall continue until the end of days.
Darkness is frustrated, that it is feared and ignored.
While the subtle jewels in the sky are jealous,
that the morning light receives more attention.
But it is their juxtaposing positions, purpose and presence,
that redefine the very meaning of beauty.
