My Winter
My Winter
Ava Cosentino (16), Julie Cosentino (49)
Winter
air, leaving
a shiver down
your spine but having
that warm feeling in your heart,
the snow trickling its way down to the
green grass, kids running around making snowmen
and angels in the soft powder, but as night hits its a different feeling,
it’s silent,
feels silent,
looks silent,
is silent.
Winter
in the city
reminds me of
sunset colors, it's a
calming orange feeling and you
feel like you are the main character of the world,
but sometimes there is that spark of purple that makes
You want to dance in the street, there is also yellow where you can't help
but smile, and if you're lucky there are hints of red that match the color of your cheeks.
Feels orange,
feels purple,
feels yellow,
feels red.
Sometimes
I wish winter still
felt like winter when i was
little, looking at the reflection of a
the glistening snow i see myself, there
is face that I see everyday but just start appreciating in
the moment, the snow I watch fall off the trees take me back,
back to when the sight of snow or cold air would put a automatic smile
on my face not just because of the snow but the impact it had on me.
Jumping through the snow,
dancing through the snow,
laughing through the snow.
