Dancing in the Rain
They spent hours dancing in the rain,
The light in the stars and his eyes,
It seemed to ease her paranoia and pain.
The streetlights shone on both sides of the lane,
The emanating petrichor, the grey-patched skies,
They spent hours dancing in the rain.
Her agony she could not contain,
He quietly listened to her cries,
It seemed to ease her paranoia and pain.
The night was cold, but she did not complain,
The winds blew harder, she felt her heartbeat rise,
They spent hours dancing in the rain,
It was hard for her to trust again,
But he promised to not tell lies,
Seemed to ease her paranoia and pain.
She felt she had the chance to start over again
She didn’t have to worry about goodbyes,
They spent hours dancing in the rain,
It seemed to ease her pain.
