"How clever you are, my dear! You never mean a single word you say." - O.W

The night is quiet,
not a single distraction.
My thoughts are easier
to put into action.

First thing to mind
is destroying a fence.
I pause for a moment…..
That doesn’t make sense.

I write it down anyway.
After all, it’s a start.
I picture that fence,
and me tearing it apart.

The fence is quite big,
like it’s surrounding an ocean.
And the water inside
is my human emotion.

People are getting mad.
They all want to swim.
Now building this fence
wasn’t exactly a sin.
But clearly it’s preventing people from getting in.

And no you can’t hope the fence,
I’m metaphorically speaking.
Of coarse there are holes
and my poem is leaking.

The water is deep,
and there’s a chance I might drown.
But I built this fence,
and only I can take it down.

Sometimes when something very random comes to mind, I like to over-analyze it. After a lot of thinking, you can usually make something out of it.
