What They Expect

eyes wide
posture composed
walk like you mean it
even though you feel exposed
head up
shoulders straight
don't talk back
don't crack like a plate
eyeliner thick
make-up strong
hide every scar
for however long
never falter
never show
be what they expect
never let them know
do not reveal
what they cannot see
hide behind a wall
made of pure sorority
