Here I Lay
I know my life fades slowly away
Yet still here I lay
The brilliant blue sky blinds my eyes
A robin squawks and a sparrow cries
The sun shines wrapping me in a warm cocoon
It shines in the day hiding the shimmering moon
The grass wraps around me, holding me close
As the wind whispers and blows
The leaves from the tree hang above my head
Sticks bellow out like a thick, winding thread
Water rushes against a river bank
Minnows swim furiously as if in a giant fish tank
My mind struggles, lost in confusion
My eyes close, and I fade into oblivion
