Eyeliner, Almost a downfall, yet always a triumph

I wake
the sun
drowning my eyes,
and a firmiliar song
Playing quiet
on the stereo next to me
And all morning comes down to the black ring.
I so addictively smudge around my eyes.
I always wonder,
why if I don't care
why I try so hard.
I can do without the gawking,
Yet this is me....
