The “unsinkable” ship of dreams,
The White Star Line beauty.

Anxiously awaiting their journey abroad the magical retreat,
Passengers smile and wave to those on the street.

The ocean is calm and the sky is clear,
Those aboard this maiden voyage of the majestic steamship have nothing to fear.

Men, women and children embrace their loved ones in Queenstown,
Little is known of the plight to be found.

But the vessel sets sail for New York in haste,
The rushed departure will cost many lives that cannot be replaced.

The ship trudges through the frigid waters as the bitter wind blows,
Panic arises as an enormous iceberg ahead is exposed.

An inevitable collision soon to occur,
A sudden jolt of impact, now the icy waters begin to stir.

Buckling the hull, the rivets begin to pop,
Seawater forcefully streams in, never to stop.

Dire shrieks vibrate through the cool air,
This unexpected crash causes much despair.

The precious jewels and fine china is bound for the bottom of the sea,
Once dear and cherished, now converted to debris.

The legend of the Titanic, now a shipwreck below,
The unforgettable voyage we have all come to know.
