Christmas Day Sijo
A noise in the night wakes me.
An intruder? is something that it Might be!
I realize what day it is
And race to meet Santa.
But all I seem to find is my dad.
I guess Santa hasn't come yet.

This poem is written in the sijo format which is a style of construction that we learned in writing class. This sijo specifically was inspired by the innocence and the fantasy of the christmas season and the figures it portrays.
