Synesthesia
Loneliness crept its way in, tasting bitter and frosted over as it touched my tongue.
When you toss sadness to the wind, it returns as a choking breath through the smog.
The hiding place of rain shivers underneath the silk blanket, running it’s rigid fingertips over the smooth fabric
Yet at the same time, the sound of a trumpet being blown paints yellow swirls with soft pink strokes
The first bloom of spring sings triumphantly and bright
At the top of tomorrow awaits a warm smile with a tight hug, safe.
All of life feels like the moment you open a new book, fresh and crisp, endless possibilities
