Carol of Dreams
Close your eyes child and listen to the sound
Of Carolers making their nightly rounds
Listen to the sweet medleys of magic, as it may seem
For The Carolers bring to you beautiful dreams
And fireflies will lift those dreams into the sky
So all can see them as they fly
The Stars, little fairies of night
Watch with interest as each dream takes flight
And still the Moon will shine in vain
For each crater marks a man she has slain
Forgetting the one that gives her light
But he is hidden and lost in all his great might
Poor lonely sun, floating aimlessly in the sky
No one to talk to but watched by millions of eyes
Yet not the sun, nor the planets, or the moon
Will tell tales of the adventures you will dream soon
Only the stars will dance to the Caroler’s songs
Together they make pictures of all the dreams whether right or wrong
But, hush, for now you must sleep
In the morning you may choose which dreams you would like to keep…
