Moon
A million miles away.
That big huge glowing circle.
Looks close enough to touch
yet can only be reached by spaceship.
It lights up the sky
after all the house lights are turned off.
Served as a nightlight
for kids reading past their bedtime.
No matter where you are;
China, Australia, or Canada,
you can see the ray of light it puts off.
A sence of connection to
everyone else in the world.
Millions of people looking at the same object,
as they too are falling in a deep slumber.
It illuminates the dark night
until the sun rises starting a new day.
