The Biggest Lie of All
Chaos all around of memorizing and learning something new
That soon my hope and imagination will begin to undo
No more endless nights dreaming of the what-ifs and things that could
This is called that transition from childhood
Where all your imagination needs to end
Where life becomes about jobs and money to spend
On bills, taxes, mortgage and other boring stuff
Where commands and demands are thrown at you until you’ ve had enough
That the rest of your life your mind must be made to be small
This ladies and gentlemen is the biggest lie of all
Made up by people whose minds were small to start
And who can never see something simple as a work of art
Where is the rule that boundaries must only be set
Once adulthood forces you to forget
About the giggles and joy
For the knowledge that the world is your toy
I will dream of fantasies and made-up lands
My life will not be colorless and bland
My child-like wonder, in my heart it will always be
What close-minded person has the guts to stop me?
