A Treaty
I don’t want to ever want give you credit
For my life that you tried to cut and edit
I still hear your voice in the back of my head
Those awful words that I have failed to fled
I’m angry at you that because of your lack of trust
I now mistake acts of love for acts of lust
I’m angry at you because you always pointed out my flaws
Then sat back as if to wait for applause
I’m angry at you because you left me alone
And now I only know how to be on my own
I’m angry at you because you never taught me that it was ok to fail
And instead used my downfalls as blackmail
I’m angry at you because you insist that you are always right
And ignored the tears you caused me through the night
I’m angry because I know you will never apologize
For all your judgment, cruelty, and lies
But I forgive you and I’m ending this strife
Because I need to leave this and start living my life.
