{Last few moments}
In the dark
She makes a wish for herself.
In the moonlight creeping through
She talks to herself.
She is only heard by the mouse in the wall
And by the kitty playing with the yarn ball.
In the dark
She asks herself continuous questions.
In the moonlight creeping through
She wonders how she can make this happen.
Sighing and smiling,
Frowning and crying.
Her mood swings in a matter of minutes.
The machine she is hooked up to begins to beep and beep.
Her heart line becomes flatter and straighter
Soon she flutters into unconsciousness.
The doctors can do nothing.
They will never know what she thought of
In those last few hours,
Minutes,
And seconds.
They will never know how she wished for this and that.
But I know
She wished for herself to die.
To die a quick death.
God must have been listening
To her last and final wish.
