Hopes.
My hopes are stupid and misplaced
And no one can tell me that
You could someday see me like I see you
All the love songs tell me I should hold on
And
All the movies tell me to persevere.
I’ve cried all the tears left in me
And I remembered that
My heart and soul can only take so much
I can say with confidence that
I’ve fallen for someone who will never feel the same
And it’s not true that
Any possibility of good can happen
My heart will stay alone
And I’m lying when I say
Happiness is possible
