Glass Heart
Did you think my heart was stronger than that
That it was made out of rubber
And could always bounce back
Did it come as a shock
When you saw the it was glass
So fragile yet I still left it unlocked
Did you see when it shattered on the ground
Did you see me on my hands and knees
Trying to salvage what's left to be found
You can't sew glass together
Glue won't make it new
Tape can't always make things better
I could melt it down
Fashion something new out of old
And never again let my heart hit the ground
Hide it away and bury it deep
Keep it hidden under lock and key
My perfect, beautiful, new heart
That no one will ever see
