"Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working."

I see you at the water’s edge.
I do not make my way silently,
And you turn your head to face me.
I did not know that you would be here.
I wonder what you are doing here in this lonely patch of land.
What am I doing here?

I am drawn to you by the quiet seduction of your eyes.
The dappled noontide sunlight falls so softly on your face.
All around us is green –
A warm green haven,
Our very own.

I do not sit in my tree with the familiar fork,
In which I fit so perfectly,
And strange carvings in the bark,
And leaves like paper bills,
So smooth and green and precious.
I sit with you and dip my feet in the water.
Suddenly the mud is beautiful.

Does the wind whisper strange things to you?
It tells me you can show me the way home.
Maybe you will.
