Feet, what do I need you for if I have wings to fly?

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Who’s the fairest of them all?
“Not you”, responded it,
“your mind is disproportionate, your body too thick”
“NO ONE ASKED YOU!” screamed I
“Ah, but you did, ugly duckling” replied my reflection as I began to cry
“You see what you’ve done?! Everyday is the same!! I stand here,
And all you do is MOCK ME!!”
Upon speaking, I angrily threw a shoe at its smirking
Gleaming face.
“What is not to mock? As huge as you are, you can serve as a dock!”
The mirror shook upon its chuckling.
In a shrill voice chanting
“Ugly Duckling! Ugly Duckling!”
‘Til I couldn’t stand it any longer.
“GO AHEAD AND LAUGH! MOCK ALL THE MORE!”
Furiously-bubbly I grabbed hold of the shaking object,
And flung it out the open sky-door.
Hearing its piercing cry as it clattered,
Watched as its horrid silver surface shattered
The foggy air getting colder,
I looked down upon it ONCE
And only, and whispered:
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”
