Running gives you a natural high, this feeling of accomplishment and pride. It is not generally understood and most people stick their noses up and mutter words like “track isn’t even a sport” and “all you do is run, it’s stupid.” Track is the only sport that your only equipment is your spikes, the bright colored shoes that dig their little metal points into the rubber. They propel you as you open your stride, your breathing becoming heavier. When you round the turns, you get this incredible feeling and a strong emotion consumes you. After racing, your stomach may be overwhelmed with throbbing ,or
your face may be wet with tears, but the pain is forgotten and replaced by the sensation of winning. Winning after pushing your body until it hits the wall is something indescribable and is only understood by the other incredible people who participate in track.
