This I Believe
The bible has taught me so much about life and how to live my life.
The bible is the most essential book in my life. It has helped me grow in so many ways and personally are the most important stories in history. It has shown me how to be a better person in my life and lead others to Jesus Christ. This book is the basis for my faith, and my life wouldn't be as amazing as it is without it. I grew up christian and ever since I was about three i've had a bible of my own. I don't think there is a more important or crucial object in my life than my bible.
The bible has taught me how to grow in my faith and remind me that I am always learning. It has never ceased to help provide an answer to my problems weather it was in a verse I read or something my pastor spoke about. There was this incident more recently that happened when I went to church. I had been struggling with the issue of my salvation. I had come to the point where I just didn't feel that I deserved to go to heaven. So I was listening to my pastor and he brought up 1 John 1:9 “ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us of our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”(Bible) This verse from the bible really changed my attitude about the thoughts I was having about my salvation. It reminded me that God is a gracious God.
While everything in my life has been unreliable and unconstant I can pick up a bible and think that there is always someone to listen. There is always something new to learn and a lesson to take into account the next time I deal with someone. I consider the bible a guide through life, it gives me all the tools I need to live a healthy and happy life.
I look back on my struggle and think of it as a learning experience. I never will let it affect me in that way again, and because of the experience it taught me to trust in God and read the book he provided.
