Normal?
It’s just a phase, they say. Don’t worry; it’ll pass. I wish it was true. I feel like a fake. Nobody knows who I am inside and the feelings I’ve felt. They’re not normal. At least, I don’t think they are? If this is normal, what kind of a messed up world are we living in, where no one can share their fears and love with each other? Does everyone constantly find lies coming out of their mouths to protect themselves? How do I find a way through if there’s no one by my side? I wish you would just call me when it’s all over, but you’ll never love me like that. You’re not strange like me.

This piece kind of represents the way most people don't realize when something they're going through is or isn't normal, so they don't know how to deal with it. In this case, there is a homosexual person who is grieving his/her differences and doesn't know if everyone feels this way at some point or another.
