where peace-seekers fight wars

and meat-eaters try to save the animals

where people don't have time to do anything

but waste away in front of a television

where you live for fridays

and throw away every other perfectly good day of the week

where people trash half-eaten meals

when there are starving people going without

where smiley faces have bloodied bullet holes

shot through their heads

where things aren't right

so they are made worse

where we pray for help

but don't try to work it out on our own

where everything is dying around us

and we just watch

... it slip away.
