Black Roses
Summary:
Evangeline Larson spent her childhood in Charleston, South Carolina under the firm hand of her strict mother. Long before she had reached her debutante year, her husband had been chosen by the family and their unity in matrimony had been settled. However, when Eva meets the carefree Henry Carter, she discovers a life far different than anything she had ever imagined. Defying the prejudices of her culture, Eva and Carter find themselves irrevocably in love, only to be met with the harsh discrimination of society. Along the way, Eva learns the meaning of true beauty and discovers that a rose is beautiful...no matter what color.
