Pecan Bush
Summary:
In 1976, Orange Lilly Blue, a housewife and mother, sends a vague suicide letter to her old high-school teacher, willing away her possessions. Then Orange leaves her California home and flees to Indiana, abandoning her three kids and husband. Her middle kid, Carney, is a music-loving progidy with a lot of spunk and adventure. The tragedies in her family have discouraged little Carney so badly, however, that she runs away at the first chance she gets.
This story involves a lot of music, a bully named Napalm Wilson, three odd women who run a gas station, runaways, life stories, murder, guilt, and oh yes, a wedding.
