Summary:
Avalon Holland was on her way to becoming valedictorian. She was the fastest girl in the state of Florida and she had the dream of going to Harvard for medicine. Avalon though lived in an abusive home in the middle of the ghetto. Her Mom was addicted to meth and her Dad beat her senseless and masked his depression behind a bottle of alcohol. One night Avalon’s father takes it too far when beating his daughter and pulls out a gun killing his wife and himself, leaving Avalon an orphan. Out of fear Avalon runs away, not wanting to face the police. Avalon finds herself living on the streets homeless for two years; stealing, selling drugs and doing anything to help her live another night.
