School Stress
Imagine this: You are in 8th grade, the most important year of middle school because everyone is trying to figure out how are they going to graduate. You are scared and stressed out. You are in a class where your grade is a C and your teacher gave you a project that if you pass you get an A and if you fail you get an F. This project is very important it decides if you are going to graduate or not. Now, because of this you are very scared, nervous, anxious, and it’s hard for you to focus on your work, you ask yourself, how do I handle this? How do I get over it? School can be hard on anyone. Stress can be caused by anyone by your family, friends and even yourself. When not taken care of your performance suffer, your morale suffers, and life just seems hard. Do you want this to happen to you? Well, this kind of problem can be easily fixed. One way is to learn to manage your time more efficiently.
One reason I think time management can really help you because it make thing seems more manageable. Trust me, time management is really important. As a student with piles and piles of homework in front of me, sometimes just being told to relax seems like a big joke. To get through the hard work you have to do, conquer a little bit of work every night so you are never left with piles of work. According to the information I researched that people with poor time management faced low productivity, low morale, unable to deal with distractions, deadline pressure, stress and frustration with themselves. Can you believe it? That is a lot of problems you can avoid just by learning to manage your time. Now, don’t you think that time management really helps with your stress? Time management is not the only important aspect to helping you with stress, another is positive thinking.
Another important aspect I think can really help to coping with stress is positive thinking. Having a positive mindset can keep stress away, making difficult tasks seems okay. You can begin to remove negative thoughts out of your mind and see life with possibilities and solutions instead of worries and obstacles. Data shows that positive thinking improves ability to learn, lower rates of depression and distress, increases resistance to physical illness, increases ability to bounce back from stressful experiences quickly and efficiently. Wow! Don’t you want that? It will not only help you take control of your life and make your everyday more pleasant, but it can also benefit your mental and physical health. Now you know the benefits of positive thinking.
People who disagree with me say that school stress is not really a problem. One study shows that some people don’t really think it is really a problem, since most people do not respond the same way. I hear their argument, but my argument is much more convincing and has better data to support it. Here’s why: Another study shows that younger kids feel pressured also, elementary students in Harrisburg, Arkansas, school counselor Joy Holt sees academic stress. Young kids are terrified of failing tests now. When students aren’t able to get over their stress, as it goes on it begins to take toll on their body and cause physical, mental, and emotional problems. They can’t focus on their academics. You cannot argue with the statistics. Now, since that students do not respond to stress the same way, this means that it would be wrong for any faculty member to simply ignore the stress caused to a student, just because others are not experiencing the same level of stress. Wouldn’t you want all students to be able to focus on their academics? I have proven the school stress cannot just be dismiss. Trust me, I know the facts.
In conclusion, I would like to mention again the facts.Time management can really help reduce stress. Time management can make difficult things seems okay. Also, stress can cause physical, mental, and emotional problems, you don’t want this problems so think positive and see life filled with possibilities. But at the same time stress isn’t always a bad thing, it can actually encourage you to do better or study more. Not everyone experiences stress the same way but it does not mean it should be ignored.
