Welcome to Sacramento, the City of Trees more specifically Meadowview. Beautiful new houses, always sunny, what could be better? Meadowview has all of these and more, many lush-green parks just waiting to be walked on. The parks are fun and always peaceful. All these happy people, where are you? You should be here at Meadowview. There is nothing to worry about, right?

Well, that’s wrong. Meadowview has many newer homes but new homes doesn’t mean better people. There is always something wrong here, maybe a small problem but still, a problem is a problem. Problems include fights, gangs, environment, and a bad community. One night I heard a loud but distant bang. After that day I heard from the news that somebody had died at Meadowview Park which isn’t far from where I live. A few weeks later somebody gets killed, where? Meadowview Park. It isn’t scary if terror is far but if it is close to you, could feel the tension. The trashed and dirty streets says a lot about our community, it says we don’t care about the place we live. Going to the park I could see a man living there. He is always smoking weed just blowing it out in front of people.

I remember it was a Thursday morning when our neighbor’s house got broken into. It was right before dawn hit so it was still dark, the sky blue-ish black.

If you were to move here you must be thinking about our schools. Our schools are diverse which is cool but it is more possible see a group of people hanging out with only  their race. It is separated sort-of-speak. For us it is nothing new to hear gunshots or the siren of a police car maybe even a police chopper. We know how to avoid trouble, but for newcomers trouble is everywhere. Everyone soon gets used to it.

My Meadowview is a fun place, just know where to be or to hangout with.

This story is something that needs to be heard. I want people to learn and care for their community before it turns into a unwanted place. Respect your community as it is where you live.
