Arms Down Head Back And Hold On

When I stepped out of the Jeep I took a few steps back to admire the breathtaking view of Cedar Point. It’s my second time going to Cedar Point and I am so excited. I can’t wait to ride the Top Thrill Dragster, I thought. I remember riding it my first time, It was fast. I  could see it from here, it is the second tallest roller coaster in the world.
After getting out of the car I enjoyed the view of all of the rides, I saw the Dragster, the Power Tower, the Magnum, and the Gatekeeper. Then my aunt Jill, uncle Mike, cousin Alani, and I ate sandwiches and drank pop before we all went to the entrance. We didn’t get a good parking spot so we had to walk quite a long time. When we finally got there I felt like I could guzzle down another Pepsi.
We each gave the lady at the entrance our tickets and walked in. It was hot out, we kept trying to stay in the shade. We saw a gift shop at the front of the park. I opened the map we got when we entered the parking lot, I looked for a fun ride and I found the Raptor. We did a bunch of other rides like fast and tall ones.
We got in line for the Maverick and watched the music videos and games on the TV. The line was really long. After a while, with my eyes wide open I had to go to the bathroom. I am jumping and trying to keep myself occupied until I ride the roller coaster.
I keep going along with the trivia questions on the TV about Cedar Point. It is starting to get boring but I waited. The wait must have been almost an hour long. The last time I rode the Maverick there was no line which is incredibly rare because it is one of the greatest rides there!
After the long wait I got in the third row and waited for the ride to start. Everyone got on and it started to move. As it slowly went up the first hill it got quiet as everyone got ready for the drop. Then we started to go really fast as the tracks pulled the cars over the hill and we were off. I could hear so many people screaming with me. We went through a series of loop-the-loops and then we went into a dark tunnel and slowed down. I could hear somebody ask if the ride was over, but I knew what was coming and I heard the brakes go off and we shot off super fast and then the ride slowed and stopped!
When we got off the ride I started running to the bathroom as fast as I could, when I finished I rode a bunch of other rides saving the best for last. After a few hours we were almost done and I couldn’t wait to get on the Dragster, we got in line and we are waiting, there was posters and videos about the Dragster, the Dragster is only 30 seconds long, it is 420 feet tall, it goes from 0 to 120 mph in 3.8 seconds, and it cost 25 million dollars to build it! The wait was about an hour or so but it didn’t feel that long because I was so excited.
We all got on, strapped our seatbelts, and put down the lap bar. When everyone got double checked on our seatbelts, we were told to keep our arms down head back and enjoy the ride. The train went forward a little bit and we waited for the other train to finish, the street lights on the side of the tracks changed color. There was three lights, two orange lights and one green light. The two first lights changed color in an order, orange, orange, green. I heard a car sound and then the train shot forward, the train was starting to go up, it is spinning as it goes all the way up, then I was at the top I could see the whole park and I felt like I was flying, then it started to tip down, and now I’m falling and spinning. Don’t scream, I thought. I took one last look of the park before I got down, the train is going so fast I could barely keep my eyes open, the ride is slowing down and I wish it would go forever, it was so fun. But the ride was over, I was shocked how fast it went by.
“I saved the best for last,” I said as we walked to the exit of the ride.
“Was it that fun?” My aunt said because she didn’t ride it.
“Yeah, you can see the whole park from up there,” I added
“Maybe you can talk me into riding it next time,” she said
We walked to the exit,  got in the car, ate dinner, and drove home.
Whenever someone talks about roller coasters or hot summer days I think about the time I went to Cedar Point with my aunt, uncle and cousin. I would recommend for all of my friends to go if they haven’t went to Cedar Point yet. Next time I go to Cedar Point I will bring sunglasses because I had to squint my eyes almost the whole time.
