Perseverance, Is It Granted to Everyone?
"Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We have perseverance, and above all confidence in ourselves. We much believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained." - Marie Curie. I believe this statement is true, in some cases life can be difficult. It can be difficult to persevere because you have the ability to stop at any moment. Sometimes it is most comfortable to give up, some people don't like constructive feedback. These people often turn in the wrong direction, if only they knew that if they persevere and drive through their challenges. As long as they persevere, they will eventually reach your goal.
When I was in 5th grade I was assigned to complete a literary essay each Friday. The essay was very repetitive, it often took a long time, and I couldn't find time to both read a book and write an essay about it. I really wish I would've tried harder and put as much effort into each essay as possible. I always seemed to be close to writing a successful essay. I never really followed the constructive feedback and often made it harder on myself. If I would've pushed through it and taken the constructive feedback into consideration, I would have improved greatly.
I see perseverance in many people around me. How they are able to revise something that in their eyes is unsuitable, or improve on a subject they find difficult. I envy them for their ability to complete tasks on time, regardless of how much they loathe it. If you get in the habit of not letting assignments slip past their due dates, they won't get caught up in old projects when they should be focusing on current ones.
I hope that in the future I will be able to persevere more frequently and effectively. By doing this, I will be able to keep my head above water. For a long period of time I've believed that as long as I persevere, I'll eventually reach my goal. I've always believed that working hard pays off, but recently it seems like I've actually been implementing this quality. I am on my way to adopting this quality, but like many things it isn't easy, it takes determination and grit.
