Thunderstorm
Boom. Boom. Boom. The thunder over my head terrifies me yet calms me at the same time. I lie there. tired. smiling. Adrenaline rushes through my veins.Every flash of lightning stirs up a jump in my heart. I don't run. I just lay there on the concrete and let the rain wash over my face and smile. How few people experience the beauty of a summer storm? They rather lie in bed and sleep soundly to the sound of the rain. That's okay. I like that sometimes too, but I felt the need to see the storm, be part of the rain, and let it all wash over me. A baptism of sorts. It reminds me of the time that I was traveling alone in the woods and saw a stream. Conventional thought told me to look on from the safety of the grass, but my spirit yearned to feel the pulse of the flow and feel the tadpoles slide through my torn jeans. I needed to fully experience it. I smile and feel one with the storm.
