Bravery
“Its not normal to be scared of the bathroom, face your fears”.
They say…
You used to go every afternoon after school to that bathroom where I USED to take about an hour taking a shower, or maybe being silly and singing, or just playing with the water.
I was just 8 years old but, it seemed like every time you went into that bathroom you forgot about my age.
You were 13 years old, did your ignorance make you go to that bathroom every afternoon to touch me in that way, as if I was a grown woman mature enough to go through that.
“Don’t tell anybody or I won’t let you use my CD player”.
A CD player that you never let me use. You were telling me that you were going to let me use it just to make sure that I wont tell anybody around me, that way you wont get in trouble.
I got to say that, that was smart coming from a 13 year old boy that didn’t realize the damage he was causing to that 8 year old little girl that just wanted to have fun in the shower playing with her Barbie’s.
Years passed, I’m 17 years old now. To this day I’ve never told anybody about what you used to do. Now you talk to me as if nothing of that ever happened, I wonder if you think about it, because I think about it every time I take a shower. It’s crazy how I prefer to wash my face with my eyes opened and get my eyes irritated from the soap, than washing it with my eyes closed, imagining that someone is going to enter the bathroom and do such thing, when in reality nobody is in there.
It’s disappointing that I have to, call you brother. Weren’t you supposed to take care of me, and make sure that I don get hurt by any man? Isn’t that’s what brothers are for? At least that’s what I thought. But I still love you, no hard feelings, don’t worry mom will never know.
“It’s not normal to be scared of the bathroom”.
Do you think it’s weird? Think again…
Remember I told you that I USED to take an hour in the shower? Well that changed, 15 minutes is the most I can take in the shower now. I’m saving water that’s a good thing out of all this.
That 8 year old girl, its me, she is 17 years old now, she is an honor roll student in high school, she is a normal person, and she is still scared of the bathroom.
Still don’t find it normal?
