My Teddy Bear
My Teddy Bear is the only one that listens to me. I am the only one who listens to him. He doesn’t show much emotion except an average smile on his worn out face. He may seem happy, like he has no problems or worries at all. However, he is very soft on the inside. He’s completely made up of stuffing, He is very fragile and could be ripped easily. In fact, he has some deep “stitches” that can’t be seen. Some of them have been there for years and are starting to come apart. Others are fairly new. He relies on me to stitch and fix him up. I’m always there for him, when no one else is.
I carry him around my small house all day and all night. But my family doesn’t see his importance to me.
Whenever, he is sad or depressed he keeps it inside. He never shows any emotion except his half-hearted smile, just like a statue that’s been rained and snowed on and beaten by the sun. He’s shy and quiet, similar to me. He doesn’t talk nor does he really want to. He just observes. Never allowed to speak or share his opinions.
When I am too tired to be “happy” he stays up through the darkest parts of night, when I can’t. I look to him just like he looks to me.
My Teddy Bear who needs me. My Teddy Bear who protects me. My Teddy Bear who’s only purpose is to live forever.
