“Feeling good, living better” -Drake

What would life be like without music?

Without the satisfaction of opening my AirPods case and watching them sync to my phone.

Life without music would be bland; would be boring.

Walking on the treadmill at 15 incline and 4 miles per hour would feel longer than five minutes, that’s for sure.

Each step would feel like an hour.

Instead of music, my racing heart and gasping breath would fill my ears, clouding my mind.

My next thought would not be focused on the sweet melody surrounding me, but rather when the nightmare of a walk would be over.

And that is just my warm up.

“On a scale of one to ten I’m at 100” -Ariana Grande

What would life be like without music?

Without the jolt of joy I feel when plugging my phone into my car and opening the Spotify app.

My morning routine would be completely thrown awry.

I could no longer sing at the top of my lungs to Ariana Grande while I drove to school, my sister covering her ears.

If there were no music, the ten minute car ride would be awkward.

Sitting in silence does not exactly sound ideal to me.

It would fuel my grumpiness that I already have from waking up every morning at 6:00 after only getting six hours of sleep.

Music makes the morning more bearable.

“Music has healing power” -Elton John.

What would life be like without music?

When it comes down to it, music really fuels everything.

It’s in the Netflix shows that I binge watch on a rainy fall day.

It's in the Tik Tok videos that I scroll through until midnight when I can hardly keep my eyes open.

It’s in the tunes that blast through the Walgreens speakers that make the eight hour shifts go by a little bit faster.

Music really does play a part in everything.

Life without music would not really be living at all.
