What if...
She drives over the bridge. ‘What if this bridge collapsed and we all fell to our death?” She passes the building. “What if this building collapses and I get crushed under a metal beam?” She gets on the elevator. “What if the cord breaks and the elevator falls, killing me?” She gets in a car. “What if someone crashes into us and I die?” She always brushed over thoughts like that, she ignored them. “That stuff will never happen to me, I’m just paranoid” But she wasn’t paranoid when she got stabbed. She was just biking. She never thought she’d be left with a scar on her right thigh, a memory of the puncture wound that almost killed her. Those things sneak up on you, bite you when you’re expecting it the least, when you think it’s all fine.
Based on a true story.

In this story, I am using repetition by giving multiple examples of the irrational thoughts that the girl has in the story. My favorite part of the story is the end because it connects to something that actually happened to me in real life.
