Pumpkin Pie
How can you look at someone and love them just because you know them better than most people ever will? How can you forget those sweaty kindergarden days out in the sun, running and running and thinking you won’t ever stop? How do you let go of the January recesses spent hurling down snowbanks and carving forts furiously before the bell rings? How do you leave these things without falling apart? How do leave the place that gave you everything? How do you leave the people that taught you how to love? How do you say goodbye to these people, maybe forever, without shattering? Please tell me, for I’m not sure how. I’m not sure how to exist any place else but here.
