Free Falling
I want to feel like free falling, crashing into the air- feeling the gravity try to pull me down faster. I want to feel singing like a bird, and chirping at the break of dawn. I want to feel running, running faster than a cheetah, but as graceful as a swan dipping into water. I want to feel the type of free written in books and stories. The type of free only described as liberating, the type of free one can only hope to be. I want to feel like nothing can hold me back, like the weights have been lifted off my shoulders.
But there is always the silent whisper, in the back of my mind. Keeping me caged like a beast, but almost letting me grasp freedom through the chains.
The silent whisper that breaks your bones, but never kills you.
They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but all I feel is desperation,
Desperation to be released of these chains
Desperation to let go
Desperation to free fall
Slowly
Slowly
Slowly
Feeling the wind in my hair. Feeling gravity pull me down. Feeling free.
