Possibility of Time Travel
Did you know that the person reading this paper is time traveling right now? Right now time is travel going at one hour per hour. That means that space time for us is balanced, not too fast not too slow. Space time is a four-dimensional fabric. If we went to the speed of light, time around us would slow down according to Einstein’s theory of special relativity. Einstein's theory of special relativity states that time slows down or speeds up depending on how fast you move relative to something else Unfortunately, with this theory comes consequences such as paradoxes. A paradox is simply a contradiction in a situation that is linked or associated with time travel.
Such paradoxes are the bootstrap paradox or the card paradox. One includes time travel the other does not. The bootstrap paradox is if a piece of information or object could go back in time it would enter an infinite cause-effect loop that leaves the object or information with no origin or beginning. The card paradox is something anyone can do without a time travel machine. So it is a card with two sides with one side saying “the other statement on the other side is true” the other side reads “the statement of the other side is false”. If the sentence on the other side is true but it says false, then what is true and what is false? These are both paradoxes because both contradict something that be logic or time its self.
Time travel is maybe potently bad because if you alter history or make a new time line then it is. An example would be if a guy killed Hitler the guy’s timeline, the one he is in, is altered. He creates a new time line in which Hitler was never killed. Time travel itself is not bad because people do not age as fast. But the only bad part is the teleportation part of the travel. Going from one point to another skipping distance. Teleportation is bad because it is killing the teleporter taking his atoms apart and reassembling him in a different spot all in an instant. There are some pros and cons to time travel but that is up to the person to decide whether it is dangerous.
The question everyone asks is “Is time travel possible?” Here are some theories on the possibility of time travel. Einstein’s theory of relativity states that the faster you move relative to something else, preferably speed of light, the slower it goes. So if you are in a space ship and go to almost to the speed of light time around you would slow down. Einstein also says gravity can bend time. An example would be if a trampoline if an object or person stands on it, it will create a dip the more dip the more gravity and the more time is being bent. That is why in space people age slower. One reason time travel is not possible is because if you were going at the speed of light time around would stop or be really slow meaning either I am going at a crazy speed and crash or I would be stuck in time frozen not being able to move. Those are the reasons time travel is not possible.
