the cold lake
As I swim in the cold quiet water to which no one knows I am swimming in, I look up at the sky. The once bright, vibrant, beautiful sky has turned into a dark, gloomy, ugly sky. How has this happened? How can something's entire look and feel of itself change completely in seconds? Somewhere deep in the trees is where the colors stay. Orange, bright, vibrant, me as a child. Someone I miss dearly. Someone who thought life would always stay bright and vibrant. But now I lay, cold and tired, in the dark water as the gloomy clouds cover the warm yellow sun. No one has searched for me or noticed I am gone. I tried to reach for a hand to help me get out of this water but no one was there to help me. I am stuck in this endless loop of gliding across the water and no matter how close I get to the shore I can never seem to pull myself out.
