My Name
My name is the month of July. The month I was born. My name is the hot and fiery inferno of the oppressive, humid summer air. My name looks chunky and big like the number 6. It is the color green, the color of the large sprawling forest behind my house that I would spend all of my time in as a child. It sounds like a small rock being dropped in a lake, creating ripples on the water and sinking to the murky depths, where it will never be seen or touched by another soul until the end of time.
My name is the quiet and early morning. In the winter, it is the crystal clear starry sky among the bitter sting of the unforgiving cold air. In the summer, it is the blanket of mellow fog on a dew-kissed grass field in the cool morning.
My name is shared with the weird and annoying lemur from the movie Madagascar. I used to hate it but I’ve grown to not mind it. I also share my name with Julian Huxley, a very famous evolutionary biologist from the 20th century. Who greatly influenced modern-day knowledge of systematics and zoology.
In Latin, my name means “youthful”. Every day I can see that many of my peers seem very dull and monotonous, they all seem like they are withered and worn out by the harshness of life, I feel that I am a lot more lively than they are. I still have that youthful motivation and drive that others around me have lost through life.
