Goals & Aspirations
Jane Goodall once said, “What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” And that difference I want to make is becoming a Zoologist.
My interest in Zoology began with my love for Elephants. The Elephant interest began when I went to the zoo for the first time when I was about 6 years old. After the Elephants, we of course moved on to see the Giraffes and Otters and Polar Bears but at that point, I knew I wanted to help out and work with animals that were not dogs or cats. The one person who got me started on the Zoology interest was, the one and only, Jane Goodall. The way she talked about primates and how she actually got to understand how they act around humans and each other really fascinated me because you really need to have the guts to be around mammals who are known to be somewhat vicious. A few months ago, I got my hair cut and the lady asked what I wanted to be after she finished insulting my hair and calling me Rainbow Brite. I told her about how much I wanted to be a Zoologist and she told me that more women need to be in the field of science and told me I have what it takes. Then told me she was relieved that I didn’t want to do Cosmetology.
Someday, I would like to become the next Jane Goodall.I want to make an example and inspire the beings of the younger generation just how she inspired me, I want to make a difference, I want to show the world that change can happen. If I want that change to happen, I have to start with me.
