According to the dictionary, chivalry means, “the sum of the ideal qualifications of a knight, including courtesy, generosity, valor, and dexterity in arms; the rules and customs of medieval knighthood; the medieval system or institution of knighthood; a group of knights; a chivalrous act; gallant deed.” Issues during in the Arthurian legend were dragons, evil mages, and damsels in distress. However, a chivalrous knight always solved the issue. Today, I believe chivalry is important and needed, but it doesn’t even exist. People are too preoccupied with their own problems to they don’t even attempt to assist those in more need than themselves. People today are too selfish. All we need is a few knights in shining armor to balance the power of those who are chivalrous and those who are too selfish to care.
