What The Pink Had To Say MAG
A sugar coated rose,
Fluffy and velvety smooth
The fragile color of a newborn baby's ear
Saltwater taffy or soft bubble gum
A canopy bed in foamy, frothing
Pink
And of course,
My grandmother's favorite lipstick shade,
Shocking and inappropriate
After this
An intrusion:
Four matte walls
Suffocating me,
Walls I had not chosen -
All pink as Pepto Bismol
And at last
A small voice feminine coy
Whispering,
"I am a good girl,
A sweet girl,
A good girl,
In pink."
