Hidden Memories by Eden Witelson MAG
I found Eden Witelson’s article “Hidden Memories” (in the May 2018 issue) extremely moving. As a person with a heavily Polish family, my Great Uncle Charlie would tell me about the Second World War and the horrific treatment of Jews and other groups that were imprisoned and executed (like the Poles and Gypsies). I can understand the questions Eden has, as my uncle probably took most of the traumatizing moments of his youth to the grave and away from my then too young mind. However, I will continue to carry the stories he told me when he was alive, for the sake of remembering him, and for inspiring me to delve deeper into the subject of history. So thank you, Eden Witelson, for telling me your beautiful story, and reminding me of the man who helped shape me.
