Feedback on Ode to Rice
“Ode to Rice” is, and I admit, one of the most unexpected poems I’ve ever read. Who knew that rice could have such a wonderful story behind it? Probably only its author, Kristof C. “Ode to Rice” is an amazing poem which shows the writer’s appreciation for rice and after reading it, I began to look at the rice in my kitchen differently.
This poem talks about how providing and enduring rice is, yet it is overlooked by many. Rice has helped “catalyze the growth of ancient dynasties, the survival and thriving of millions.” It helped us in life for so many years and without it, “the world would falter.” A majority of the human population doesn’t see rice as a staple crop or that it feeds people, rich or poor, across the world. They only see it as white mushy capsules, not knowing of its importance through history but “Ode to Rice” helps to tell the world of the unknowns of rice; and that’s what makes this poem so unexpectedly beautiful.
