;Lighthouse in Hurricane Harvey
The writing titled “A Lighthouse in Hurricane Harvey,” written by Lauren Yang, talks about how the country came together to help the people affected by Hurricane Harvey. Her writing left me feeling happy to be a part of the people who made a difference to help the families. I agree that the country can come together during the hard times in our country. However, the country only comes together when something bad happens. It disappoints me to know not long after a catastrophic event everyone gets together to help, and after that they go back to arguing over random things. It shouldn’t take an event to take innocent people’s lives for the rest of the country to come together to work to help the families that were harmed during the event. She writes, “My city was drowning.” This put a terrifying image in my head. I never want to see my home get destroyed right in front of my eyes. Overall, this article was written very well.
