Samuel O. paints a vivid picture of an abusive workplace in the reader’s mind. When I read this Nonfiction story I immediately felt like I was there with him. I cringed as Gary tossed the piglet into into the pen. The way Samuel portrayed him made me want to punch him and make him stop. I felt the pain that Samuel was feeling and I wanted to get him out of the horrid situation.


The story was set up in a way I haven’t seen before but I still loved. He started with the end with leaving and ended with the start of the job. The only issue was that it took me a couple of reads to understand this. Despite that, I loved the style and story. It was beautifully told and made me feel pain for the poor piglets.
