"Leaving my Comfort Zone" by Jessica Zou
I can relate to Jessica Zou when she talked about her parents always telling her that safety is the number one priority. I too was a very shy individual when growing up; I could never talk to a group of people because I was extremely intimidated. I was born in Mexico but when I moved over to the United States I decided to get out of my comfort zone since I was going to live in a new country. I began making friends and found my true self. Although I still panic when I hear the word “presentation,” I know for a fact that everything will turn out fine. Just like Jessica Zou said I also “[Shed] my cocoon of self-doubt.” Thank you Jessica Zou for writing a piece in which I could relate to in so many levels.
